About Renewery

Spaces shape us in more ways than we realize. They influence physical health — through air quality, temperature, noise levels and the flow of the layout. They affect mental health — through the amount of natural light, the presence of calming or distracting elements and the mood set by colors and textures. In short, spaces can work against us or for us.

Imagine walking into a wellness studio and being blasted with heavy metal music, glaring red walls, busy artwork and mirrors on the ceiling. Relaxing? Hardly. Our bodies know when the design of a space doesn’t match its purpose. We feel it, even if we don’t consciously register it. That’s why we say things like, “I just don’t like that store” or “as soon as I walk into that lobby, I want to turn around and leave.” Sometimes spaces just feel off.

At home, that might mean avoiding a room altogether — not a big deal if it’s a basement or guest room, but if it’s your home office? That’s a problem.

For a retail store, museum or daycare center, the stakes are even higher. A space that drives people away can mean lost business, lower profits, a weakened brand reputation and, ultimately, the failure of the enterprise.

That’s where intentional design and brand-aligned space planning make all the difference — transforming both home and workplace environments into spaces that support wellbeing, productivity and long-term success.

Renewery is a consultancy that helps you do just that.

Hello, I’m Tracy — and essentially, I am Renewery. After more than two decades in marketing, design, communications and branding, I was laid off. Surprisingly, I wasn’t unhappy about it. What I realized instead was that the role I'd been in wasn’t aligned with what I truly wanted to be doing.

Looking back at the projects that energized me most, a pattern emerged: I was always drawn to shaping the look and feel of spaces. From turning empty shells into branded environments, to streamlining cluttered offices to reduce distractions, to countless transformations in my own homes and those of friends and family — these were the projects that lit me up. I’ve always been the one people call for advice: “What color should I paint this?” or “How can I improve this space?”

So here I am, focusing on the type of work I’ve always loved — and that others have told me I do best. I’ve held onto the Renewery.com domain name for well over 10 years, not knowing exactly what it would become, but trusting it would reveal itself when the time was right. Today, it represents not only the renewal of spaces, but also a renewal of my own professional path. I’d love to help you shape your environments – whether at home or at work – so they feel inviting, energizing and aligned with their purpose. Reach out and let's chat.

A multi-faceted approach

I bring together aspects of many disciplines and perspectives when I create a space. The result is a blend of creativity, strategy and practicality that makes environments not only look better but work better.

  • Interior design with a minimalist lens – While I’m not a licensed interior designer, I have some formal training, as well as a degree in graphic design and decades of design experience. I’ve worked alongside architects and designers, chosen countless colors, finishes and layouts, and developed a sharp eye for creating spaces that feel polished and purposeful.

  • Sustainability – I’m intentional about avoiding consumerism for its own sake. I prioritize repurposing, secondhand finds and sustainable finishes wherever possible, reducing reliance on plastics and disposables while bringing character and longevity into a space.

  • WELL Building Standards – I’m deepening my knowledge of this discipline as I study for WELL AP accreditation. I’ve seen firsthand the impact of poor air quality, noise and thermal comfort, and I believe in designing spaces that enhance health, wellbeing and performance.

  • Feng shui & flow – While I don’t do comprehensive feng shui audits, I do apply some of its practical principles. That may mean rethinking layout, repositioning furniture or introducing more symbolic color choices — all with the goal of improving the natural flow and energy of a space.

  • Color theory – Colors shape mood. Some energize, others calm. I use color intentionally to set tone, reinforce brand identity and influence how people feel in a space.

  • Biophilic design – Bringing nature indoors matters. Live plants, organic textures, even murals or images of the outdoors change how a space feels and how people perform within it.

  • Branding – With decades of branding experience, I understand that every touchpoint tells a story. A physical space should align seamlessly with brand values and voice, strengthening both reputation and customer experience.

  • Personalization – Just as brands need alignment, people need spaces that reflect who they are. I help clients bring their personality, passions and character into their environments so the space feels like theirs.

  • Visual merchandising – My background in retail taught me how much first impressions matter. I draw on proven merchandising principles to shape sightlines, flow and focal points that elevate both customer and employee experience.

  • Organization – I believe in clarity, simplicity and order. A streamlined, uncluttered environment reduces distraction, supports focus and simply feels better.

  • Resourcefulness – I’m scrappy by nature. Repurposing, refinishing or finding secondhand treasures not only saves resources but also adds uniqueness and depth to a space.

All of these inputs converge in my work and each has played an integral part in shaping my approach. If some of these resonate with you and you’re ready to reimagine your space, I’d love to talk.

Let's create a space that energizes and inspires.
